Logistics Manager

Job Purpose

• To lead the safe, reliable, and cost-effective movement of naturally sourced CO₂ from production sites to local and regional customers by managing fleet operations, dispatch planning, driver performance, regulatory compliance, maintenance coordination, and cross-border distribution. The role ensures strong fleet availability, timely product delivery, controlled logistics costs, and high service standards across Carbacid’s domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily CO₂ dispatches from production sites to customers across local and regional routes.
• Ensure safe, timely, and complete delivery of bulk and packaged CO₂ in line with customer commitments.
• Manage fleet availability, utilisation, scheduling, and allocation to meet production and customer demand.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and statutory checks for trucks, tankers, and support vehicles.
• Optimise routes, loads, turnaround times, and fuel use to reduce delivery costs and improve service reliability.
• Enforce transport safety, hazardous product handling standards, and driver compliance on all movements.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate drivers and logistics staff to build a disciplined, safety-focused team.
• Manage cross-border transport documentation, customs clearance, permits, and corridor compliance requirements.
• Monitor vehicle tracking systems, delivery performance, fleet incidents, product losses, and corrective actions.
• Control logistics budgets, fuel consumption, spare parts use, maintenance costs, and third-party transport spend.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, KPI reports, delivery documentation, and fleet performance dashboards.
• Work closely with production, sales, maintenance, finance, and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues quickly.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification in logistics, supply chain, or transport management (CILT, CIPS, or equivalent) is desired.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, and fleet management.
• Demonstrated responsibility for fleet operations across multi-country corridors.
• Proven track record in regional commercial/sales execution, key account management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience managing cross-border transport, export documentation, customs processes, and non-Tariff Barriers across Eastern and Southern Africa.
• Experience leading sizeable and operationally dispersed logistics and driver teams.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial gases, FMCG, or related sectors preferred.
