Nexus Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing catering and food services business based in Kahawa Sukari, for an energetic and hands-on Entry-Level Catering & Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the business, coordinate staff and catering assignments, monitor service delivery, assist with customer communication and ensure that events and orders are executed efficiently.
This is a hands-on management opportunity suitable for a young professional who is organised, responsible, customer-focused and interested in building a career in catering, hospitality and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day catering and operational activities.
- Assist in planning and coordinating catering events, deliveries and food-service assignments.
- Coordinate staff schedules and deployment for different assignments.
- Ensure staff report on time and are appropriately prepared for assignments.
- Monitor service delivery and ensure customers receive professional and timely service.
- Assist with customer enquiries, bookings and follow-ups.
- Coordinate orders and ensure agreed customer requirements are communicated to the relevant teams.
- Support event setup, service and close-out activities.
- Monitor cleanliness, presentation and general service standards.
- Assist in monitoring food, equipment and other operational requirements.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth execution of assignments.
- Handle routine customer concerns and escalate major issues to management.
- Maintain basic operational records, schedules and reports.
- Follow up on pending assignments, deliveries and customer requirements.
- Assist management in identifying operational challenges and practical solutions.
- Support staff discipline, teamwork and adherence to company procedures.
- Assist with stock and equipment accountability during catering assignments.
- Perform other operational duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, Business Management, Catering or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, restaurant operations, events or customer service is needed.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Customer-focused and professional in dealing with clients.
- Must be proactive, reliable and willing to take responsibility.
- Ability to coordinate and work effectively with a team.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willingness to work during weekends, evenings and public holidays when required by catering assignments.
Remuneration
KSh 15,000 – 20,000 per Month
Salary will depend on experience, skills and suitability for the role.
