Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Italian dishes following culinary techniques and recipes.
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings, and bake pizzas to required standards.
- Ensure consistent taste, portion sizes, food quality, and presentation across all dishes.
- Prepare fresh ingredients and maintain proper food storage practices.
- Operate professional kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, kitchen safety, cleanliness, and workstation organization.
- Monitor food inventory stock levels and minimize wastage.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to maintain smooth, efficient service.
- Assist with menu planning and suggest culinary improvements where appropriate
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Italian Chef in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment.
- Demonstrable experience in pizza preparation, including dough making, sauces, toppings, and professional oven operations.
- Strong knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine, ingredients, and traditional cooking methods.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Ability to handle kitchen pressure during peak service hours with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Formal culinary training, Italian nationality, or background working in an authentic Italian kitchen is an added advantage
