Job description & requirements
Responsibilities
- Assess children with special needs and disabilities;
- Refer children assessed to other service providers;
- Place children assessed in educational programmes;
- Provide data on assessment;
- Train assessment staff in functional assessment;
- Identify children with special needs and disabilities and recommend for placement in schools and institutions;
- Create awareness, sensitize and capacity-build teachers, parents and other stakeholders dealing with children with special needs and disabilities
- Participate in community outreach service to awareness on disabilities
Qualifications / Work Experience
- Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution
- Two (2) years’ experience working in Functional Assessment
