Job Purpose
Analysis of Commercial Banking Credit Proposals and management of the Commercial Banking Credit risks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Approval — 80%
- Analyze loan applications and documents presented for Commercial Banking facilities and ensure compliance with the approved Product parameters, all credit policies and underwriting standards.
- Execute the credit underwriting function in line with bank credit strategy and the overall bank growth strategy by undertaking timely review of Commercial Banking applications within stipulated turnaround time while maintaining the stipulated loan portfolio migration and early vintage rates.
- Conduct World Check screening for adverse mentions and escalation of the same to Compliance Department.
- Ensure transaction monitoring is done to analyze customers’ account conduct and risk profile.
- Ensure credit risk exposures for Commercial Banking are managed within the established risk appetite and standards to protect the bank from financial loss arising from a borrower's failure to repay a loan or meet other credit obligations.
- Evaluate and understand the risks associated with individual transactions, products, securities, and the borrowers.
Asset Finance Product and Portfolio Management — 10%
- Participate in the review and assessment of the Commercial Banking Products and Portfolio.
- Review and recommend key changes and updates to the Commercial Banking Products Offering
Digitalisation and Product Enhancement — 10%
- Participate in product digitalization and system enhancement initiatives for the Commercial Banking Product Offering.
- Participate in the review of the Commercial Banking Product Manual and processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required for this Role
- At least 4 years’ experience as a loan appraisal officer or related position.
- Excellent understanding of credit risks, financial analysis and the techniques of credit analysis.
- Good presentation and analytical skills.
- Good communication and planning skills.
- Ability to work with different stakeholders across the bank and manage key relationships.
